Interview with Paul O’Neill, Inland Waterways Assocation of Ireland (IWAI)

One of the highlights of today’s North South Way Peace Camino walk was hearing from Paul O’Neill, Secretary of the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland (IWAI) – Newry & Portadown Branch.

In this short interview, Paul shares some of the fascinating history of Acton Lake (Lough Shark) and explains the important role the Sluice Keeper’s Cottage played in the operation of the historic Newry Canal.

A huge thank you to Paul for taking the time to speak with us and for sharing his knowledge and passion for this remarkable waterway. We hope you enjoy hearing the story as much as we did.
